Thank you for bearing with us recently concerning the water heater problems in the kitchen. I’m incredibly grateful to Mrs Rowe in the office for being adept at organising alternative arrangements with Mary and the kitchen staff. As ever, Mary and the team have managed to keep their smiles despite working in challenging circumstances!
Update on the car wash planning application in Raynham Road (Newsletter 7)
I heard from the Newton Associates this week that an extension has been granted from the planning department in order for alterations to be made to the original plans. These include removing windows that would have overlooked the school grounds and providing a more substantial fence or wall on the boundary of the forest school area. Disappointingly I conclude from this that, despite being rather shocked at how exposed our land is as a result of the clearance work already completed, Hiltons are determined to push ahead with the development. When I have any further news I will, of course, let you know. Thank you for your continued support with this matter.
I’m thrilled that a new PTA Committee has been elected. The outgoing committee has worked tirelessly to raise money for our children and were keen to hand over their healthy balance to a band of willing volunteers. I look forward to working with the new PTA and thank the current members sincerely for all that they have done.
World Book Day
Wow! Thank you for embracing World Book day with such gusto! Our school community looked very different on Thursday with an array of unusual costumes. The children and staff shared their creations first thing in the morning and took great delight in working out the books represented in the parade. Thanks go to the English team who have organised this event—enormous fun.
It’s days like this that the children will remember for years to come!
