I have received the following forwarded email from Councillor Woodward:
‘I drove the Stort Shuttle today. We had 59 customers, so it was a busy day. I am writing to inform you that I was held up by inconsiderate parking at 8.50am & 2.50pm in Plaw Hatch Close just before the school. Parents had parked on both sides of the road and not left enough room for the bus to get through. I waited for the drivers to come back to their vehicles. They did not seem to think they had not done anything wrong. If I could not get through an ambulance or fire engine would have not got through with potentially disastrous results. A word with the school asking parents to park considerately might do the trick, otherwise I think the council ought go get involved.’
‘Disappointed’ doesn’t really cover it! Despite constant reminders and requests, some of our school community are habitual offenders and put our children at risk. I’m eternally grateful to those of you who challenge inconsiderate and downright dangerous parking. It would be wonderful if next term could be a parking complaint free zone. Thank you.
Hot off the press:
Congratulations to the Hockey Squad today (Thursday) with the A team returning victorious and going forward to represent the Birchwood Sports Partnership Level 3 games on the 7th July. Thanks to Mr Carter and Mr & Mrs Dawson for accompanying the children!
Good luck to the PTA this afternoon for their first event. The children are excited about it and there has been some lovely feedback around the inclusion of children with allergies, thank you.
I hope that you have a wonderful Easter break with your families and I look forward to welcoming you all back on Wednesday 19th April at 8.50.
