I’m delighted to be able to introduce to you Theo Jess who arrived safe and sound on Tuesday afternoon! Mr Jess claims that he may be slightly biased but his son is, ‘a real cutie’. I’m sure that you will all join me in sending love and best wishes to Mr and Mrs Jess and big sister, Phoebe! Thank you to all those of you who have been asking after the Jess family and I’ll be sure to pass on all your messages.
You will have received a letter concerning our Parent/Pupil/Teacher consultations and I hope to see as many of you as possible over the two afternoon/evenings. If you have been with us for a while, you will remember that members of the Board of Governors are in attendance and welcome the opportunity to talk with you about school matters. This is a perfect chance to raise issues that have started to appear on social media. I hope that parents and carers feel that they can approach the school and myself for clarification around matters, such as why swimming takes place in year 2, or why we have a Panto in school rather than visiting the Rhodes Centre. The governors are well placed to answer such queries if preferred.
After half term I shall be announcing the new House Captains for the coming year. It has been extremely difficult to make our final choices as the candidates wrote highly persuasive letters outlining the reasons they should be chosen as well as pitching ideas eloquently for improving lunch times for all pupils. I’m grateful to Mrs Hayes for her support during the process. Do have a wonderful half term break with your families and I look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday 31st October at 8.50am.
