We have been busy in Year 2, keeping diaries and recording the growth of our bean seeds. We have been observing them daily and watching them with interest as they have grown into seedlings. In Literacy, we are writing explanations about ‘How to Grow a Bean Plant’ and have been planning our writing using text maps.
In Science, we have learned about the important functions that the different parts of the plant do and have even touched upon photosynthesis! We have also been outside, making studies of the plants in our school environment and have sketched some of the flowers and leaves that we have found.
We have linked much of our Science work to Computing. by creating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations about animals and have also had a go at making a branching database to classify animals.
It has been a busy few weeks and we are looking forward to a well-deserved rest during half term!
