The children in Reception have spent the last few weeks immersed in many different activities linked to our Space topic, such as, making 2D shape rockets, writing post cards to Baby Bear on the moon, describing Alien’s Underpants, and we even went on a journey to the moon! We were blown away by the effort that the children and their families put in to making their space project. The children were so proud to show them and we were very impressed with their fantastic knowledge!
In Maths, we have been learning about shape and went on 2D and 3D shape hunts around the school. The children built some fantastic 3D aliens using recycled materials, thinking about what shapes they were using. Florence was excited to use a cylinder because “It’s magic cause it can roll and stand up!”
A quick note regarding Phonics Fun books – if your child’s first book is full, please keep it at home to continue practising their phonemes. Thank you to those who practise regularly at home, it has a big impact on the children’s reading and writing.
