In Year One we have had a very busy Maths week. We started off the week with some problem solving in the hall where the children were given different 2D shapes and worked collaboratively to use the shapes to create different pictures. They used triangles, squares, diamonds and parallelograms. The children then had to use their imagination to dream up what they would buy with £100. This included £100 worth of burgers, popcorn, make-up and even healthy snacks! On Wednesday the children had the challenge of decorating 100 cupcakes without eating them! (They passed this challenge). Their imagination was tested again to look into the future and to make a collage of what they would be like if they were 100 years old, we had plenty of glasses, grey hair and wrinkles. In the afternoon the children were delighted to welcome their families into Year One to share some Maths activities. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the week and we all hope you have a lovely half term.
