We’ve had a very busy final few weeks in Year 2! The children have completed various projects linked to our geography topic on coastal and urban environments. In computing the children chose a topic of their choice from any point in the year. We were really impressed by the breadth of knowledge and understanding shown by the children as they worked in small groups to make PowerPoint presentations about their topic of choice. We’ve also taken part in two enrichment trips in recent weeks. The children enjoyed their trip to All Saints church to be ‘Church detectives’. During this trip they showed great knowledge of different key parts of the church and the Christian faith learnt throughout the last half term. We also had a fantastic trip to the beach. The children’s behaviour was exemplary and fun in the sun was had by all! (Our apologies but we’ve had technical issues with the photos taken at Frinton- there are some on display outside the classrooms but we were unable to upload them for the newsletter).
As a final thought, we’d like to congratulate Year 2 on a brilliant year- seeing the progress in the academic side of school has been fantastic and the children should be very proud of their achievements. But we should also point to the development of their independence and social skills- something that has been very evident in the projects over the last few weeks which simply would not have been possible earlier in the year!
Kindest regards and have a fabulous summer.
Mr Purser, Mrs Fuat and the Year 2 team.
