After spending the last half term reading myths, and earning how to write character and setting descriptions, we have now begun writing our own myths. Our plans are completed and there are a wide range of mythical creatures, heroes, villains and tragic endings. We are looking forward to sharing the finished myths with our buddy classes.
It might not be snowing outside but Year 4 have made their own snow for another exciting Science experiment involving evaporation. We made predictions about whether the change to the ‘Instant Snow Powder’ was reversible or irreversible, added water to the powder and then made observations over time. We then linked this to the water cycle and its stages of evaporation, condensation and precipitation. In groups we worked collaboratively to sort cards and arrows to show the different stages.
In computing we have been writing more algorithms, this time to control a ‘pro-bot’ to draw 2D shapes. If the shape was not drawn correctly we had to ‘de-bug’ our program.
Last Friday all our hard work practising our Christmas songs came to fruition when we performed at the Barnabus centre – we’re sure all those who attended thoroughly enjoyed this harmonious event. A super effort from all of the children – we are very proud teachers.
