Burwell House was a huge success and we thoroughly enjoyed each others company and all the activities on offer. Our stay started with the Snail Game, a treasure hunt around the grounds of the building and after that we started our craft activities, including batik, enamelling, corn dollies and hammer and nail art. On the second day we played Burwell Fox and had great fun avoiding the farmers (teachers) and their skull stamps! The food was delicious and we all helped to set the table, serve the food and clear away afterwards. A real team effort. The children have been busy writing ‘thank you’ letters this week, considering their most memorable activity, the most challenging activity and what they feel they have learnt. We are hopeful that some of the letters will be displayed along the staircase at Burwell House but will have to wait until next year to find out.
Year 4 have had a very busy two weeks indeed. We’ve been hard at work preparing artefacts for our musuem and finding out all about the periods of history we are exhibiting. This has involved clay, paint, sand, glue, cardboard, paper squares, jewels and all sorts of other resources. We have been learning how to work collaboratively and independently gathering our own equipment and tidying away afterwards. We look forward to welcoming you into our museum on Thursday 26th May.
