Year 6 had an amazing time at Osmington Bay last week. The children were an absolute credit to the school. They were polite, looked after each other and showed huge determination on every activity. Even better, they slept at night, which the adults were thrilled about! They all took part in a number of activities including raft building, hiking, Jacob’s Ladder, zipwire, airball, sensory trail, giant swing, abseiling, tunnel trail and more. Lots of children faced and conquered their fears of heights or small spaces. We were incredibly proud of them all. The weather was fantastic and even with frequent sun cream application, we all got a little sun burnt. It made raft building even more enjoyable, and also meant we could have a huge water fight – teachers versus children. As you can imagine, it didn’t end so well for the teachers! Mrs Gapper carried out her infamous room inspections, looking for unpacked clothes, used towels and made beds along with checking that everything was straight – even the toilet roll! On the final night, we had a campfire and the children learnt lots of new and very catchy songs that I’m sure you’ll be enjoying soon. All in all, we had a brilliant week.
