On Monday in Year 1, we went on our school trip to the Bishop’s Stortford Library followed by a play and a picnic in the town park. The children were brilliantly behaved and walked sensibly on the paths, looking carefully before crossing the road. When at the library, we found out that we can borrow up to thirty books for up to three weeks and that it is also possible to borrow audio books, e-books and magazines! We were then given a tour of the different sections of books and the computers and we were also shown how to sign a book in and out. We finished with a lovely story of ‘Percy and the Park Keeper’ which was a super end to our topic – what a lovely day!!
In science last week we planted cress seeds and have since been observing the changes! When inspecting his seeds after a week of growth, Oliver commented, “I have noticed most of my seeds have started to sprout but not the ones that aren’t on the cotton wool.” Yanjie said, “So some of the seeds have germinated and some of them have grown green leaves.” Wilf noticed “Some of mine are starting to sprout because I put lots of water on them.” We hope they continue to grow at home over the Easter holidays so you can eat them in your salads! It’s been a wonderful and very busy half term and we wish you a lovely Easter break.
