After our visit to Spain we took a direct flight to beautiful Italy where we found out the capital of Italy, counted to twenty in Italian and looked at some typical Italian food. The children enjoyed learning a song about how to make a pizza. You may have heard this at home! They then wrote a set of instructions on how to make a pizza and challenged themselves to use time conjunctions such as ‘first’, ‘then’, ‘next’ and ‘finally’, as well as imperative verbs such as ‘put’, ‘sprinkle’ and ‘roll’.
In Maths we have been recapping 3D shapes and trying to use the language of vertices, edges and faces when describing them. The children had a challenge to work together in groups to make different models using a variety of 3D shapes. Drew and Henry made a fabulous train using cylinders for the wheels and cuboids for the carriages.
In PE we have been learning different stretches and making shapes with our bodies. The children worked in pairs to mirror different balances.
