What a fantastic day it was!! The weather was kind to us, the children were amazing, so well behaved and encouraging of each other, and it looked like they had a lot of fun too. Our highlights were the girl whose wobbly tooth fell out on her way around but she managed to hold onto it ready for the tooth fairy and the budding environmental campaigner who kindly saved a worm from being trampled by gently moving it off the course.
The teachers were again fantastic at getting their classes out to the field enabling us to run the day to schedule and finish on time. The office staff for their work collecting forms and helping out with stationary on the day and the caretakers who cheerfully help us set up/ pack away and fix things that go wrong.
A special thanks to all our wonderful volunteers, it really would not be possible to run such an event without their generous support:
Colin Harris, Tanvi Collyns, Lisa Hori, Leanne King, Philippa Murphy, Joanne Rowley, Michelle Cundall, Yoko Knight, Kris Clarke, Sarah Phillips, Jo Gill, Sarah Wheeler, Vicky Wheatley, Jenette Greenwood, Emma Caswell-Lay, Jo Kirby, Rachel Thompson, Deepa Azad, Cerys Bartley, Marina Ralago, Sabah Elbouzidi and Andrea Nyikos.
If all the donations come in we are expecting a grand total of just over £3,700, which is fantastic. Thank you to everyone who has returned their forms and money already, if you are yet to return it please send a sealed envelope to the office and we will collect it from there. Thank you.

The PTA is looking for:
Quiz Night – Friday 8th June
Our quiz team are busy preparing for a fun evening on Friday 8th June. Tickets are now on sale – £6 per person. To enter find your teams of 6-8, complete the form that has been emailed, put the correct money in an envelope with the form and hand it into the office. We will email confirmation.
Tickets will also be available to purchase at Treats & Treasures on Friday and raffle tickets will be on sale at £1 per strip.
We are looking for three volunteers to help out on the night from 7:45pm to collect answer sheets, take the money for the heads and tails round, tot up the scores and help with the many other things that need doing on the night. Come along for all the fun without the pressure of needing to win or answer any tricky questions. If you are willing to help please contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org, on the PTA Facebook page or find one of us in person at the school.
Non-Uniform Day – Friday 15th June
On Friday 15th June children will be invited to come to school in non-uniform to help us collect donations for the Summer Fair Tombola’s.
We ask that Nursery, Reception and Years 1 and 2 bring in bags of sweets.
For Years 3 to 6 we would welcome donations of bottled beer and wine to allow us to run the adult tombola.
Donations will be collected by volunteers at the front and back gate at drop off.
Summer Fair – Sunday 8th July
With only 6 weeks to go until the Summer Fair we are getting busy with all the preparations. You will have received an email requesting Raffle Prize donations, we have already received some wonderful offers of prizes and are very grateful. If you are able to make a donation please do get in contact.
We also need the following: Loan of Gazebos on the day, homemade cakes for the cake stall, helpers to set up and tidy up after the fair, face painters.
If you are able to help out with anything in the lead up to the fair or during the day please contact us.
We have provided funding to get the bike sheds repaired and John is going to try to complete the repairs over the Half Term holiday – just in time for all the lovely sunshine.
Movie and Munch – Friday 13th July – To Be Confirmed
This is an idea for a new event we would love to run. There is availability at the school to have KS1 and Early Years watching short films in the infant hall and the KS2 children watching a film in the junior hall after school finishes on that Friday. There will be a charge for a munch box for them to enjoy.
In order for this to be possible we need one or two people who can organise the event for us. We will provide assistance with the planning, communications and tickets sales, but as it is so close to the Summer Fair we will not have the time to do this event ourselves.
If you feel like you could do this please contact us as soon as possible.
Thank you for all your continued support and have a wonderful half term.
