We had a busy half term welcoming new families to the school, recruiting new committee members to Summercroft PTA and hosting the Halloween Disco, Cake & Book Sale and Treats & Treasures. Thank you so much to everyone who helped out before hand, during and after each event.
Halloween Disco The disco was a huge success, with many children unhappy to leave. Once again we were all very impressed with the excellent behaviour of all students and had many comments about how polite the children were. We raised a fantastic £1,388 profit for the school.
Cake & Book Sale Thank you to everyone who donated cakes and biscuits to the new style cake sale, and to everyone who came and supported it by purchasing many of the delicious treats on offer. We raised an impressive £286 profit which is just brilliant. All named containers are ready for collection from the school office. Upcoming Events
Christmas Fair – Saturday 8th December 3-6pm We are busy planning for the fair and are looking for volunteers to help with wrapping gifts, preparing the craft tables, making the Marshmallow Snowmen, Hot Chocolate cones and other tasks. We also need to find a couple of volunteers happy to be Santa for the grotto. If you are able to help out before the event please get in contact and we will assign a task to you – email@example.com.
We are always happy to hear from our families at the school – if you have any comments, queries, ideas or feedback please do get in contact with us. You can find one of us at the school, contact us via the office, the PTA Facebook Page or via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you all so much for your continued support, we are really able to make a difference when we all work together.
- Fixing the covered walkway and bike/scooter park
- Repairing books, both in the school’s library and for guided reading
- Planting shrubs in the school grounds (continuing the good work by the Summercroft Time gardening club)
- 2nd Hand Uniform sort and sale
- Repairing the games boards and equipment for the Summer and Christmas Fairs
Further details will be sent out about these projects, including how you can get involved if you are able to spare some time.
The PTA is looking for:
We are really looking forward to hosting the Christmas Fair on Saturday 8th December between 3 and 6pm. We are organising stalls, activities, attractions, games, hot & cold food and bar area. You have been incredibly helpful and generous with your time and assistance at our events recently and we would like to ask you one last time this year for your help, this time with the Christmas Fair.
Setting up – 9:30am to 12:30pm on Saturday morning
We need help getting ready for the fair. This is everything from moving tables and setting up stalls to prepping the food. If you are able to spare some time to help set up on the Saturday morning please let us know.
During the fair – 1 hour slots between 3pm and 6pm
We rely on helpers to run the stalls, games and attractions. We know you want to enjoy the fair with your families too so we are asking people to sign up for 1 hour time slots between 3pm and 6pm (3-4pm, 4-5pm and 5-6pm). To make it as easy as possible to offer to help we will have sign-up sheets outside by the front gates in good weather or in the lobby of the office area from Tuesday afternoon. Please include either a telephone number or preferably an email address so we can contact you with information prior to the fair. You can also email us, contact us via Facebook or find us at school to offer your help.
Tidying up after the fair – 6pm to 7.30pm
We need to make sure the Christmas fair is completely dismantled and that the school is left clean, tidy and free from rubbish so that it is ready for the clubs being held on the Sunday and classes on Monday morning. Please let us know if you can help us at the end of the day for as long as you can with putting tables back, tidying rubbish and making the school look perfect again.
If you can help please either email us PTA@summercroft.herts.sch.uk, contact us via Facebook or find one of us at the school. We will then contact you to let you know what you can help us with during set up and tidy up. Alternatively pop your name and contact details on the sign up sheets at school.
Thank you so much for your help. We really hope to make the fair an enjoyable and successful afternoon for all our families and look forward to seeing you all there.
