Last week, Nursery and Reception invited their parents in to enjoy an Early Years Forest School afternoon. Together with our parents we worked collaboratively to create an image of all the children in Early Years by combining individual self-portraits made from natural materials.
It was a lovely afternoon and the children thoroughly enjoyed being able to explore the woodland area, finding different ‘treasures’ to combine together to create their final image. A huge thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who were able to attend the afternoon and for your continued support, joining us for different events throughout the year.
Lara’s mummy commented “Lara and I had a lovely afternoon; we really enjoyed looking for things in the forest and deciding what to use to make Lara’s glasses.”
Elspeth’s mummy commented “Elspeth and I had so much fun. We enjoyed trying out different things to make her face and she thought of spelling her name out with sticks.”
Florence’s mummy commented “Great afternoon and to include grandparents is lovely. Florence really enjoyed us being able to see her in Forest School and making her portrait. Thanks for a great afternoon.”
Fraser’s parents commented, “Fraser loves Forest School. He always talks about it at home so it was great to come this afternoon and experience it with him. The self-portrait was a really nice idea too. Luckily we managed to persuade him not to use all of the pine cones he collected for his alien eyes. Lovely afternoon.”
Alba’s mummy told us “Really lovely afternoon in this fantastic weather. A lovely end to Alba’s first year at Summercroft. We really enjoyed it.”
Elliott’s mummy told us, “Lovely afternoon. Enjoyed watching all the children joining in and having fun. Elliott enjoyed collecting specific items for his self-portrait.”
