To end our topic the children wrote a book review based on The Rainbow Fish story which included complex sentences explaining their favourite part and why. We had sentences such as ‘I like the Rainbow Fish because he is kind’ and ‘I like the purple octopus because he gave advice to the Rainbow Fish’. Following on from this the children worked together to act out parts of the story. They used our learning power ‘collaboration’ as they listened to each other and took it in turns to play different characters.
In PE we have been learning different ways to travel across a bench, hold a balance and create a shape to start and finish the routine. We have progressed to using different height gymnastic tables for the children to jump off to finish their sequence of moves. The children showed determination and courage to jump off independently.
In Art the children have been using tissue paper to create their own under the sea picture. The children used a variety of techniques to create different textures for their collage.
We are incredibly proud of how hard the children have worked this half term. We hope you have a lovely and safe break and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 5th November.
