Carrying on from last week, the children have been busy writing their own story of The Tiger Who Came To Tea. We had many versions including The Horse Who Came To Tea and The Elephant Who Came to Tea. The children then used their computing skills to record themselves using the iPads to retell their stories. Keeping with the tiger theme, the children decorated a paw print using different media, we then progressed to looking at a variety of different animal prints. We focused on the shape, colour and pattern of these prints. In Maths Year One have been investigating capacity and volume and describing containers that were: full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty. They also had great fun using water to measure different volumes using ml.
In RE we have been looking at Christianity and this week the children have learnt about the Easter story and some of the traditions that go along with it. The children have made Easter baskets and the Easter bunny surprised them and left them a little gift!
This week we have introduced the concept of money and recognising different coins and their values. Please encourage your children to explore using money by buying a small item from a shop.
We would like to say a big thank you to those who came to our tea party and hope you enjoyed looking at your child’s work. We are incredibly proud of how hard the children have worked this half term. We hope you have a lovely Easter and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 16th April.
