What a great term we have had! Sadly, we are reaching the end of our topic on dragons. The children have been so immersed in their learning, that they have even been creating work linked to our topic in their free time too! It’s been lovely to see.
Over the past two weeks, our focus in English has been poetry. The children had a go at writing rhyming poems, which was a little tricky and writing poems using similes. We have also been learning a dragon poem and have enjoyed performing it and adding actions. If you came to our end of term ‘Showcase’, you would have enjoyed our performance!
In Science, we have been learning about animal and human growth and our bodies. This week, we discussed the importance of keeping clean, particularly hand hygiene. We conducted a germ investigation and watched how quickly germs spread! We have also been thinking about how to look after a pet and have written explanations using ‘because’ and ‘so.’
It has been a very busy half term and the children are in need of a well-deserved rest, so there will be no homework….but do keep looking for dragons over half term!
