Afternoons in Year 2 in the run up to Christmas are always chock full of drama and singing, as the children rehearse for the Nativity. We’ve just started rehearsing using the stage (as seen in the photographs) and the children are enjoying learning the songs, dialogue and actions for the KS1 performance.
Our creative curriculum topic this half term is the UK and some photos show Holly and Oak learning a barn dance. This week the classes took turns to perform and received feedback from the children watching. The children are also using the internet to research different facts about the UK and find and name its different countries and capital cities. All of this of course on top of our daily lessons of English and Maths, where the children have been writing an alternative version of Goldilocks and also learning to solve division problems and collect data in tallies.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the Christmas performances!
